Found April 20, 2013 on The Victory Formation:
PLAYERS: Victor Cruz
TEAMS: New York Giants
The New York Giants didn’t allow Victor Cruz and his representatives to bid against themselves during the offer sheet period of his restricted free agency. The Giants tagged him with a first-round tender, willing to let him go to another team knowing they could either match the deal or receive a first-round pick in return. Friday was the last day for teams to sign a restricted free agent to an offer sheet and Cruz is still without a long-term deal. The Giants didn’t blink. Reportedly, there is a $7 million per year deal on the table for the slot-receiver, which is right in line with the current market for a #2 wide receiver, which the Giants view Cruz as. Now that no team can surpass that in the 2013 season, the Giants can scale back the deal if they so choose. For the record, the Giants have never confirmed the terms or amount of any deal. The Giants can also reduce the total dollar amount on the tender they placed [...]

2013 NFL Draft Team Needs: New York Giants

1. Linebacker: The Giants linebacking situation is really awful. They could really use two linebackers from this draft, but will probably have to settle for one. I expect them to address this situation in the first two days of the draft, and as early as round one. Ogletree would be a great fit at 19 overall. 2. Cornerback: Webster has been awful, Thomas is always hurt, and...
