The Giants came to play tonight. That is what the fans who witnessed this game will remember.
The Giants (6-6) went blow-for-blow with the league’s best team – the Green Bay Packers (12-0) – and lost on a FG as time expired, 38-35.
Outside of a victory, you couldn’t have asked for anything more. This was a great game. Giant fans have nothing to be disappointed about tonight. Their team is back.
Eli Manning (24/40, 347 yds, 2 TDs and a costly INT) shot it out with the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers (28/46, 369 yds, 4 TDs, 1 INT) and managed to draw even with him at 35-all with a minute remaining.
But Rodgers isn’t the NFL’s best player for no apparent reason. That minute proved to be fatal to the Giants, who harassed Rodgers all game long but could not stop him when it mattered. He picked the Giants apart, driving his club 68 yards in five quick plays. Mason Crosby’s 30-yard FG iced it as the clock wound down to zero.
The Giants can hang their hat on this game. They were left for dead by man...
