Shaun Rogers walked around the Giants locker room today without the wrap on his left leg he had last week and with some hope that he will see the field this season.

The assumption was made that Rogers would miss the season after doctors discovered a blood clot because of the medication, a blood thinner, he would have to take. However, Tom Coughlin said Rogers is now on another drug. Rogers wouldn't divulge any specificities on how exactly the blood clot in his left calf went from season-ending to not other than doctors did more evaluating and came to different conclusion.

"We did a little bit more due diligence, you know, got a little bit better prognosis, you know, hopefully there’s, you know, some room left in there to get out there," Rogers said. "We’re still in the process of making that decision."

Rogers, 34, rededicated himself over the offseason and lost over 50 pounds, going from 380-plus to 334, which made the diagnosis all the more frustrating.

"Anytime you hear there's a possibility you won't play that year after you do any type of offseason work preparing for the season, you're disappointed so most definitely I was disappointed," Rogers said. "We'll keep searching for that ray of sunshine and we found a better prognosis and we'll try to go that route."
