New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was an unexpected
absence from Thursday’s practice, earning him a questionable tag as the team
prepares for Sunday’s showdown with the New Orleans Saints. However, the wide
receiver is expected to play despite his knee injury.
Tyler Sash and Travis Beckum are OUT - Kenny Phillips is doubtful - Hakeem Nicks is Questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Saints
— New York Giants (@Giants) December 7, 2012
Nicks has been hampered by knee issues all season, as he’s
been limited to nine games this season due to injury. When he has managed to
suit up he’s been impacted by his knee ailment, as he’s only accounted for 46
receptions for 585 yards and two touchdowns this season. While not awful stats,
Nicks has reached and surpasses the 1,000 yards receiving plateau in each of
the past two seasons, while catching 18 TD passes from 2010-11.
The Giants have ruled several players out against the
Saints, including safety Tyler Sash (hamstring) and tight end Travis Beckum
(knee), while safety Kenny Phillips is doubtful due to a knee injury.
