EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — He didn't have the credentials of the other wide receivers on his New York Giants team or any of the long list of credentials that the much ballyhooed targets on their crosstown rivals, the Jets, could boast of. But second year wide receiver Victor Cruz is now the toast of New York and Giants fans are liking it spicy hot, especially after a 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys sends the Giants into the playoffs.
Out of the four wide receivers on the Giants two deep, including Hakeem Knicks, Mario Manninghan and Ramses Barden, Cruz is the lowest player on the salary totem pole but is easily providing the most bang for the buck. On Sunday night it was a short pass from quarterback Eli Manning to Cruz that turned into a 74-yard touchdown and a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter,
On the play, Cruz split Terence Newman and Gerald Sensabaugh with his speed then went the rest of the field unmolested for the game's first touchdown. Born a stone's thro...

Giants’ WR Victor Cruz was a nobody not too long ago. Now’s he’s a somebody and the Atlanta Falcons are devising ways to slow him down this week. No one has succeeded thus far, but not from a lack of trying.
Cruz is always looking to take it to the house. His 25 plays of 20 or more yards and his nine plays of 40 or more are second only to Detroit’s Calvin Johnson this...
When New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz scored a 74 yard touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday night’s win over the Cowboys, it seems like NBC piped in some salsa music during their broadcast when Cruz started doing his signature salsa dance. You can See the video here.
Victor Cruz will be a lot for the Atlanta Falcons to handle
The Packers will face the Giants, Falcons or Lions on Jan. 15 in a divisional round playoff game at Lambeau Field. All three teams gave the Packers everything they could handle in regular season games, and lost.
Looking ahead to the divisional round, I expect one of these three teams to again give the Packers a helluva game…and...
Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks were the Giantsâ leading receivers in Sundayâs win over the Cowboys. No surprise there. But the third may shock you: Fullback Herny Hynoski.
The NFL looks down upon premeditated celebrations, but it seems that restriction doesn't apply to the No Fun League's broadcast partners. Despite NBC's Bob Costas gasbagging about celebrations earlier this season, the Peacock Network elected to enhance Victor Cruz's celebration with a bit of Latin music after scoring the first touchdown...

On Sunday afternoon, the Giants play their first playoff game in 3 years. It is great to be back. It is the tournament. And this site can be critical of the coaches, but none of that matters. The Giants are 9-7, they have a ticket to the dance, and now you just have to play your hand.
The ray of hope that this blogger has clung to this season has...
There are a few questions that the Falcons must be able to answer on Sunday if they want to win their first playoff game under Mike Smith and beat the New York Giants.
1. Can the Falcons stop Victor Cruz?
The biggest potential mismatch for the Falcons in their secondary is their nickel corner on Victor Cruz. Cruz is the Giants top receiver, leading the team in catches (82), yards...
