Who Is Martellus Bennett?

Jim MancariBGB Assistant Editor To answer this opening question bluntly, he’s a tight end, which the Giants desperately need. Big Blue signed Martellus Bennett to a one-year, $2.5 million contract on March 14. For the past four seasons, Bennett has been Jason Witten’s backup for the Dallas Cowboys. He told ESPN that he is eager to compete for the starting...

Jeremy Shockey wants to crawl back to the Giants

Four years ago, Jeremy Shockey made sure that the New York Giants knew how much he didn’t care for the staff. This wasn’t too surprising, as he was often critical of the coaches during his 6 year tenure with the franchise. But after being away for a little while, he wants back in. Of course, not having a job will do that. The world champion Giants lost two of their tight ends...

Manningham is not a piece to lure Peyton

Conventional wisdom might tell you that a Super Bowl hero signing with the 49ers, just days after singing the best receiver of the last 14-years to a contract,  could be enough to lure a an MVP QB to your team.  That isn’t the case with Peyton Manning. Late last night, former New York Giants WR Mario Manningham signed a 2-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.  Manninghan,...

Tom Brady vs. Joe Montana vs. Peyton Manning vs. Eli Manning

2 Of The Best Ever A.B. I could sit here all day and talk about how I think Brady will go down as the best quarterback ever and how Eli Manning sucks. But why waste all that time and effort when I am an admitted homer and the stats tell the true tale? (relax NY, Eli doesn’t suck) But before releasing the numbers I do have a point to make that I think is lost on many NFL fans in...

In depth: New York Giants

In retrospect, maybe we should have seen the run coming. After all, the New York Giants were 6-2 after eight games. The Giants were left for dead after losing four games in a row, but three of those defeats were by a touchdown or less. But it was after a second loss to Washington dropped New York’s record to 7-7 that something clicked and this team went on one of the more dominant...

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, free agent wide receiver Mario Manningham is visiting the San Francisco 49ers today. Manningham is looking to be paid like a starter even though he lost his starting role this past season to Victor Cruz, but he definitely showed up during the playoffs and Super Bowl. If the 49ers can get Manningham under contract, it would give them...
