The New York’s Giants have signed 9 undrafted free agents just one day after the NFL Draft has ended. Signing undrafted free agents is customary at the conclusion of the draft, but this doesn’t mean the Giants are done searching for talent to improve the team. In recent years, the Giants have had success signing undrafted prospects such as Victor Cruz, Jake Ballard and Henry Honoski. I have broken down each player with a short bio and expectations.

Adwale Ojomo–(DE out of Miami): At  6'4" 270lbs - Ojomo has good size and speed off the edge, but needs to work on his technique. Has had a few injuries that might be a concern, but if he can stay healthy and progress well, the Giants may have found themselves another pass rusher.

Janzen Jackson– (S out of McNeese State) the 5'11" 188lb safety was a prominent high school prospect, but had problems in college with substance abuse and other character issues that scare off NFL teams. He plays an aggressive game to make up for his size and has good hands for a defensive back. Jackson could be a vital component on the special teams.

Damian Davis– (WR out of Mary Hardin Baylor) Standing 6'5" and weighing 190lbs, Davis has above average speed and runs good routes. Needs to catch the ball better in traffic and over the middle of the field. Davis has a chance to at least make the practice squad.

David Douglas– (WR out of Arizona) at 6' and weighing 206lbs - Douglas has good speed and runs sharp routes. Douglas lacks the consistency to perform game in and game out. Douglas is a long shot to make the team or the practice squad.

Joe Martinek- (FB out of Rutgers) Martinek is a solid 6' 220lbs who initiates contact like a battering ram. A converted RB, Martinek has above average speed and good hands. The Giants like Martinek’s makeup and he could also be part of the special teams this season.

Jojo Nicolas–(CB out of Miami) Nicolas has good size (6' 198lbs)  - had 37 tackles and 2 interceptions in his 2011 season. Needs to play more physical and lacks one on one coverage ability. Nicolas will have a tough time making the team or the practice squad.

D’Angelo McCray– (OG out of Memphis) McCray is hugh at 6’4 and Weighing 336 lbs. Injuries have plagued McCray as he underwent arthroscopic surgery on a knee that previously side-lined him last fall. McCray is a strong run blocker, but needs to work on his footwork on passing downs. McCray has a tremendous upside and should make the practice squad to develop into a solid OL.

Matt Broha- (DE out of Louisiana Tech) Broha is a bit undersized at 6'4" 255lbs for a DE. Broha notched 25 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks in his 2011 season. He's slow around the edge and has struggled finishing the rush. Could make the practices squad and develop into a Dave Tollefson clone if he can add more muscle and work on his game.

Julian Tailey– (WR out of UMASS) If Tailey can duplicate last undrafted WR signed by the Giants (Victor Cruz), then the Giants would be very happy. Tailey stands 6'1" and weighs 190lbs, has good speed but needs better hands to secure the catches he can get to. Tailey is a long shot for either making the team or the practice squad.

Among the 9 undrafted players the Giants have signed, I really like (OG) D’Angelo McCray, (S) Janzen Jackson,(FB) Joe Martinek and(DE) Adwale Ojomo. I believe these four players can develop and become vital cogs in the Giants machine. As I mentioned earlier, the signing of these players doesn’t conclude the Giants search for additional talent; as there is still time from now and until training camp for the Giants to improve the team.
