The Super Bowl Champion New York Giants have a long tradition with regards to the NFL Draft. Essentially, almost without exception, they methodically grade the available players—and simply take the best one available. Sure they consider need. But almost always they just take the best football player available to them. They seem to have done so again. In round one they selected speedy running back Dave Wilson from Va Tech. It could be argued that offensive line or receiver were more of a need. But the Giants stuck to their board. Wilson, an explosive playmaker, was simply the best available in their estimation. They did the same in round two by selecting the talented wide receiver from LSU, Rueben Randle. There were a few outstanding offensive lineman still on the board. Most so called experts expected the Giants to grab one because of need. However, their board told them that Randle was the best football player available. So they took him. This pattern continued throughout the draft...
