Steve Spagnuolo is a popular man right now. Through the playoffs, he devised attacks to stop Tony Romo, Brett Favre and Tom Brady. Needless to say, the league is impressed, especially the Washington Redskins. Spagnuolo flew into Washington earlier this week and has been participating in Dan Snyder's whirlwind interview process; set to culminate at the end of the day. The Redskins might have had the deal done already, but they stupidly hired Offensive and Defensive coordinators prior to hiring a Head Coach. I'm not saying Jim Zorn and Greg Blache are not qualified, they are. However, most coaches prefer to select their own staff. This seems to be what's holding Spagnuolo up and is also leaving the door open a crack for the Giants. The Washington Times is reporting that the Giants plan on making Spagnuolo an attractive offer to keep him as the Defensive Coordinator. It seems unlikely, but it is certainly worth a shot.
