Found July 21, 2008 on The Scores Report: Yardbarker Blogger Network
In the morning New York Giants' GM Jerry Reese was telling reporters that tight end Jeremy Shockey might not be with the team in 2008. In the afternoon, Shockey is now a member of the New Orleans Saints. Given Shockey's attitude, this is a bit of a risk for the Saints, but it's a risk that could pay huge dividends. Nobody argues about Shockey the player – it's Shockey the distraction that has always been the problem. But adding him to Sean Payton's innovative offense makes things interesting for the Saints. And even though they turned down the same trade on draft day, the Giants did well landing two picks for the disgruntled tight end. Shockey's trade value was going down by the minute, so landing a second rounder was huge.
