The New York Giants are feeling dwarfish after discovering minutes later that, thanks to the Bears, they won’t be qualified for the dance that they’ve successfully dominated in the last half of this decade.
Since 2007, Eli Manning and Head Coach Tom Coughlin have celebrated two Super Bowls victories.
Coach Coughlin justified in his post-game interview, “The other thing that we look back at is, we have two divisional losses by a couple of points!”
In reasoning with his team’s last couple falling-outs, he confessed that there were no answers – and immediately reassured his support for his team, saying that he was proud of the men and the way they played today.
Due to their weak divisional record this time around, New York fans must wish they could have back the close losses against Philadelphia and Washington, but more than that, the giant lesson of all: don’t squander their wide margin of wins next season.
