Chasing both a Pro Bowl dream and a new contract at season's end, Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is orchestrating another fine season.
Cruz, New York's leading receiver, has 63 catches, 779 yards and eight touchdowns, and the Giants are in first place in the NFC East. Indeed, life is good ... on and off the field.
In fact, Cruz recently corralled a football dropped from a high-flying airplane as part of a campaign to notch that desired Pro Bowl spot. His girlfriend, Elaina Watley, proposed the idea, and Cruz agreed that it couldn't hurt, since he is among the Top 10 receivers in fan balloting
''I just keep pushing forward,'' Cruz said, ''go to the next play, the next opportunity to make something happen.''
That comes Monday night, when the Giants (7-4) meet Washington (5-6).

Justin Tuck thinks Redskins offense is only effective with RG3
Justin Tuck has a great deal of respect for Robert Griffin III, but thinks the Redskins offense is doomed if Griffin goes down.
As the NFL moves closer to college style offenses, some of the attributes call for quarterbacks to be a little more than just passers.
That also means they are exposed to big hits and could get knocked out of a game in a blink of an eye.

Kiwanuka clutch at two positions for Giants
When Mathias Kiwanuka signed a contract extension with the New York Giants earlier this year, he understood his job was to be a wild card in the defense.
Kiwanuka is somewhat of a rarity in the NFL. A two-position player, the seven-year veteran is listed on the roster as a linebacker, but he plays as much on the defensive line, his natural position.
This past week in the Giants...
