J. Mike's Missives:
Tuesday the Falcons dipped the toe back in the free agent market, signing a player who spent 2009 with the Green Bay Packers.
Safety Matt Giordano is the newest member of the defensive backfield.
The team also released cornerback Tye Hill Tuesday afternoon.
Giordano, a graduate of California, just finished his fifth season in the NFL, though it consisted of just five games with the Packers.
A fourth-round pick of the Colts in the 2005 Draft (135th overall), he has played in 60 games (six starts), totaling 79 tackles (53 solo), three picks and seven passes defensed.
In 2007 — a year he started four games for the Colts — Giordano intercepted two passes, one returned 83 yards for a score.
Only one relevant video came up on a YouTube query for Giordano, but it was a good one that should give Falcons fans a glimpse of what to expect during offseason practices and live scrimmages at Russell Falcons Training Camp.
