I intended to run this piece yesterday but between playing my own football game and then driving a couple hours to spend time with my family, I was just wiped out.While the Bears have been a mixed bag this year, there's still a lot to be thankful for, more than I anticipated at the start of the season anyways.As a Bears fan, I'm thankful for Kyle Orton, who has provided solid, steady play at the quarterback position after winning the competition with Rex Grossman in training camp. While it still remains to be seen if Orton will be a long-term solution at quarterback, his arrow seems to be pointing up, and if the Bears ever get him some actual receivers, he might be capable of doing some real damage.I'm also thankful he has mostly proven me wrong about his ability to be an effective NFL quarterback. I felt that, despite his shortcomings, Grossman offered the most upside between the two, and if the Bears would just throw him out there and let him play, the proverbial light...
