GM Mike Mayock: Raiders would 'love' to keep WR Nelson Agholor

Nelson Agholor was one of the biggest surprises in the 2020 season. The veteran receiver seemed to revive his career in Las Vegas, establishing himself as a consistent target in the passing game after struggling to live up to expectations in Philadelphia. Now, Agholor is set to become a free agent, but Raiders general manager Mike Mayock said that he would love to have the receiver stay with the team.

Mayock said he first got to know Agholor when he did preseason games while living in Philadelphia, noting that he was "familiar with his work ethic" before he was on the Raiders. Once Agholor came to Las Vegas, Mayock says the entire team was blown away.

"What he brought to the Raiders last year was off the charts," Mayock said. "He brought a work ethic, a toughness. He brought the young guys along with him, and he brought productivity and trust with our quarterback. All of those things he brought, we don't want to lose. We'd love to have Nelly back. That's a guy that I can't tell you how much appreciation I have for."

Unfortunately for the Raiders, getting Agholor back may not be realistic, as they are expected to have a limited amount of cap space this offseason, and the receiver's productive season in Las Vegas has likely earned him a nice payday.
