Green Bay Packers fans may never stop being sore about the most-talked-about blown call in NFL history, but that won’t keep Seattle Seahawks supporters from celebrating the call that went their way. Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman decided to have some fun for his July 7 charity softball game, inviting replacement ref Lance Easley to attend. Easley was the ref at the center of the season-changing call Sept. 24, when the Seahawks pulled off an improbable victory over the Packers thanks to a controversial decision by an officiating crew that was filling in for the regular NFL refs, whose union was at an impasse with the NFL. With a call that brought the term “simultaneous catch” into the common vernacular, Easley ruled a touchdown for the Seahawks despite wide receiver Golden Tate appearing to not quite make the catch. The ensuing outcry was partially the impetus for the league and officials working out an agreement soon after. Tate and Easley got the chance to reunite at Sherman’s game, which the Seattle cornerback scheduled a few months back. Easley wore his football ref uniform and was an umpire at the game. He and the players hammed it up a bit, and Tate even took home the game’s MVP award, according to Pro Football Talk. You know what would have been funnier? Holding the game in Green Bay. Check out Tate and Easley having a nice chuckle together in the photo below. Photo via Instagram/lawyermilloy Photo of the Day It looks like Paul Pierce is making good use of the offseason.
