Photo by Jim Mahoney The 34-3 win Monday night over the Kansas City Chiefs has breathed new life into the optimists’ bubble about the improvement of the Patriots’ defense. The defense was able to hold the Chiefs to just 3 points, their best performance of the season, and 334 total net yards, their second-lowest total of the season. The Chiefs converted 46% of their third down tries, but the defense was able to get pressure and come away with 3 sacks and 2 interceptions.The naysayers though point to the fact that the Patriots played an injury-riddled Chiefs team that was without its starting quarterback and the player who did start, Tyler Palko, has been a journeyman throughout his career.
