What a difference just four days makes in the NFL. Although the Chicago Bears faced a much tougher Week 2 opponent in the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field Thursday night they looked like a completely different team than the one that seemingly broke the Indianapolis Colts Sunday at Soldier Field.Once again the Bears' Achilles heel proved to be their struggling offensive line. Surrendering seven sacks of their visibly flustered quarterback Jay Cutler, the big guys up front were almost completely unable to protect their former Pro Bowl passer. The Packers' prolific pass rusher, Clay Matthews, who accounted for three and a half of his team's seven total sacks, abused Chicago's bewildered left offensive tackle J'Marcus Webb most of the evening. Webb's poor play even led to a sideline scolding and minor physical altercation with his battered and bruised quarterback. "I care about this," Cutler said following the Bears 23-10 loss in Green Bay. "This...

Packers defense lays down the law

The Green Bay Packers rattled and robbed Jay Cutler and backup tight end Tom Crabtree scored on a fake field goal in the second quarter of a 23-10 victory over the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field on Thursday night. The Packers (1-1) intercepted four Cutler passes, including a pair by Tramon Williams. Facing a fierce pass rush all night, Cutler was sacked seven times, including 3...

Charles Woodson said they got a laugh out of Jay Cutler talking

Green Bay Packers cornerback/safety Charles Woodson was a guest on the Jim Rome Show and was asked about Bears quarterback Jay Cutler saying “good luck” to the Packers’ secondary leading up to this past Thursday’s game. “We got a laugh out of it, really,” Woodson said, per ProFootballTalk.com. “It was funny. They do have some big receivers over there but they’re not...

Packers Use Fake Field Goal to Score Pivotal Touchdown in Win Over Bears (Video)

In a game that featured Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler at quarterback, it was Tim Masthay who threw the first touchdown pass in Thursday night's Packers-Bears game. It was by technicality, of course, as it was Masthay who "connected" with Tom Crabtree for a 27-yard touchdown "pass" near the end of the first half. The Packers used the old fake field goal on fourth...

Green Bay Packers defense comes to play against Chicago

My hat goes off to the Green Bay Packers and their defense, after posting earlier this week that the time was now to either “put up or shut up” they came to play on Thursday Night Football and sent the Bears home with a black eye. I admit I didn’t see a performance like this coming, while I thought this team would be motivated after a big loss to the San Francisco 49ers and...

Packers' Williams shuts down Bears' Marshall

Tramon Williams didn't need Jay Cutler's sarcastic good-luck wishes when it came time to defend Brandon Marshall. The sixth-year cornerback's standout performance was a display of skill, not luck, in the Green Bay Packers' 23-10 victory over the Chicago Bears on Thursday night. Williams had a pair of interceptions and played a primary role in marginalizing Marshall...

Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers: Hero and Zero of the Game

There are no easy divisional games in the NFC North, and when the Bears and Packers get together there are bound to be fireworks. In this game, most of the action came from the Green Bay Packers' defense. With so many stellar performances (Clay Matthews' 3.5 sacks, Tramon Williams' two interceptions, Charles Woodson intercepts his 55th career pass) I decided to go with...

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers

One of the greatest rivalries in sports will be on display Thursday night as we get to experience the Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers leading off week 2 of games. Many of you may already know my thoughts on the Bears, I have them winning the Super Bowl after all, but the Packers are the team I picked to have the same record as the Bears just losing out on the division. So when...

Thursday Night Football: Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers Preview and Prediction

Football on Thursday nights will be a regular occurrence this season, with this week’s matchup featuring a classic rivalry. The Bears will travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers, who dropped their opener to the 49ers. The Bears had a slightly easier game as they beat Andrew Luck’s Colts in his rookie debut. Aaron Rodgers will be looking to get the Packers first win of the...

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers: 5 Lessons Learned

“Good luck,” Jay Cutler said earlier this week, when referring to the ability of Green Bay’s defense to cover Chicago’s wide receivers. His buddy, wide receiver Brandon Marshall, also was heard chirping like a bird this week. When the final whistle blew, you felt good for Cutler, yet his Bears had just lost to the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers, 23-10. It was nice to know...

NFC North Showdown: Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers Preview

The Bears and Packers kick off Week 2 of the NFL season tonight in Lambeau, and this game is already crucial for the Wisconsin faithful. The Bears, Lions, and Vikings all won their Week 1 games, which means the Packers are sitting alone at the bottom of the NFC North. I'm not suggesting the Vikings are a threat to anyone, but the Bears and Lions are definite contenders in the...
