When the Green Bay Packers take on the Chicago Bears in a key NFC North divisional battle on Sunday, they will apparently still have to do so far less than 100 percent. They will still be without a few integral parts this week, but the good news is that they may finally be getting one or two back. First, the bad news. Cornerback Charles Woodson is still unlikely to suit up against Chicago this week, as doctors have advised against the All-Pro making his return to the field against the Bears. Woodson says he is ready to return, and has done everything he feels is necessary to get himself inserted back into the lineup, but the Packers will likely err on the side of caution and hold him out for at least one more game. Also unlikely to play this week is wide receiver Jordy Nelson, who has been in and out of the lineup and on and off the field through much of the 2012 ...

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Packers were supposed to get outside linebacker Clay Matthews and safety Charles Woodson back this week, but theyll have to settle for the return of just one of their star defensive players. Woodson, who has missed the past six games with a broken collarbone, has been ruled out for Sundays game against the Chicago Bears. "Very frustrating day," coach...

Packers Injury Report: Jordy Nelson, Clay Matthews, Charles Woodson

While the Green Bay Packers have ruled wide receiver Jordy Nelson and safety Charles Woodson out for this weekend’s contest against the Chicago Bears, linebacker Clay Matthews is expected to return for the club. Matthews was a full participant in Friday’s practice as he appears to be nearly fully recovered from a hamstring injury that’s sidelined him the past few weeks...

Packers DB Charles Woodson has been ruled out for Sunday’s contest against the Bears, per Weston Holdkiewicz. “It was a frustrating day for him,” said Packers HC Mike McCarthy. “He’s ready to play but doctors feel we’re going to hold him out of the game.” Woodson’s absence should help the Bears this Sunday, but Bears QB Jay Cutler needs to pick his spots. Packers...

Jordy Nelson a “long shot” to play

Jordy Nelson is considered a “long shot” to play this weekend against the Bears, leaving fantasy owners looking for other options. In fact, I wouldn’t recommend starting or even rostering Nelson in anything but keeper leagues, as he will not be a full strength until after the regular season. Aaron Rodgers‘ struggles of late (0 passing touchdowns last week against a less than...

The Green Bay Packers expect to have linebacker Clay Matthews back in the lineup Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Matthews is listed as probable for the NFC North showdown. Right guard Josh Sitton (hip) is questionable...

Packers won't have Woodson back for Bears game

Jay Cutler can't catch a break this season. Clay Matthews was back at practice Wednesday for the first time since pulling his hamstring last month, and he's eager to terrorize the Bears quarterback again Sunday when the Green Bay Packers (9-4) travel to Chicago. The Packers can clinch the NFC North title with a victory over their biggest rivals. ''When you have...

Matthews Returns But Woodson Out vs. Bears

The last time Clay Matthews faced Chicago, he dropped Jay Cutler for 3.5 sacks. Rather than rush back from his hamstring injury, Matthews and the training staff kept the "big picture" in mind during his four-game absence. The "big picture" also is in play with Charles Woodson.
