Johnny Jolly of the Green Bay Packers has been sentence to 6 years in prison for possession of codeine (for those of you’ll that don’t know codeine is popular among those who are fond of the purple drank). “What?” Has anyone heard of this story? It seemed to be buried. Personally I try to keep tabs on the Purple Drank. However this managed to from under my radar.

Let’s start with the obvious. Who thought you could get serious jail time for this? One would think you would get a slap on the wrist and summand to rehab. And if you do get jail time, why is JaMarcus Russell not behind bars? I regard Russell as the Purple Drank monster. He’s like Peanut Butter to NyQuil’s Jelly. So if you see JaMarcus in your neighborhood tell him to keep his Styrofoam cup close to the vest.

On a smaller scale if you’re a fan of the Purple as I am. You may want to stock up, before they take it off the shelf. Now don’t make it obvious. You don’t want to walk in to Walgreens and ravage the cold and flu isle like Justin Bieber with a girl backstage (too soon?). Walk in calmly. As a matter of bring a sick baby into the store with you, and say “I need all the codeine you have in stock! Please don’t mind the gun. I’m doing it for the kid (Trick Daddy style).”
