Packers great Greg Jennings inducted into team Hall of Fame

On Thursday, Green Bay Packers legend, wide receiver Greg Jennings, was inducted into the 2022 Packers Hall of Fame. Yesterday he gave his speech on being inducted.

College Career Stats

Greg Jennings played college football in Kalamazoo, Michigan for the Western Michigan University Broncos from 2003-2006. During his college career, Jennings set a WMU record with 5,093 all-purpose yards. Leading the team with 1,092 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2004. Named to the All-Mac Second Team, and All-MAC Teams in 2003-04.

In 2005, he led the nation in catches per game with (8.51). Jennings received the MAC Offensive Player of the Year Award in the same year. He became the 11th player in MAC history with over 1,000 yards in three seasons of his college career.

Green Bay Packers Stats

Greg Jennings played seven seasons with the Packers.  Catching passes from both Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Game winning touchdown passes became a huge part of his game as he broke records while being with Green Bay. He was named to the NFL All Rookie team during his first season.

Notably, the seven-year wide receiver helped Brett Favre complete the milestone of making 400 touchdown passes against the Detroit Lions. Greg Jennings did suffer some injuries later on in his NFL career.  But the one thing that Packer fans will never forget is #85 helping bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV with four catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During his career with the Green Bay Packers, he piled up 425 catches for 6,537 yards and 53 touchdowns. Jennings led the team in yards, catches, and touchdowns in 2010.

Hall of Fame Inductee Speech

In his Hall of Fame Inductee speech, he spoke about his time with the Packers, stating, “When it comes to what I offered this organization, how I played the game, my representation of my teammates. I expect to receive whatever I get. That’s just who I am, but at the end of the day I’m good. I’m good with it all, man. I’m excited to be back,” said Jennings.

Jennings left the Packers in 2013 and went to the Minnesota Vikings for two seasons. After his time with the Vikings, he went to the Miami Dolphins but was released in 2016. The ten-year wide receiver later retired in the same year from the NFL.

Greg Jennings is more than deserving to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and will always have a place to call home in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
