No. 5: Address Coverage Issues at Safety Many people will probably look back on the Packers’ season and assume that there is glaring need in the secondary. The situation isn’t quite that dire, as the team led the NFL in interceptions with 31. Sure the team also allowed the most passing yards per game (299.8), but that was really the fault of an anemic pass rush and not the secondary. Failed blitzes often left receivers uncovered in the middle of the field and they racked up easy yardage downfield. That being said, the Packers’ secondary certainly wasn’t perfect and improvements are needed. The main area of concern is safety. Morgan Burnett and Charlie Peprah played solid this season with three and five interceptions, respectively. Stats can be deceptive, however, as Peprah can be a liability at times in coverage.
