Green Bay Packers Share Positive Kingsley Enagbare Injury Update

Coming into the 2024 NFL offseason, there was some concern about the health of Green Bay Packers edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare. In the team’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys during Super Wild Card Weekend, Enagbare suffered a knee injury.

When the injury occurred, it was feared that Enagabre had suffered a torn ACL, which usually comes with a 9-12 month recovery time. Based on when the injury happened, that would have likely sidelined him for the 2024 season.

Luckily, that did not turn out to be the case. Enagbare was able to avoid going under the knife and has been rehabbing his knee. There is hope that he will be ready to go when the 2024 regular season gets underway.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur provided an update on Enagbare, which was more positive than people expected. “He looks pretty good right now. He’s still fighting his way back,” LaFleur said. “It was never confirmed it was an ACL. He did not have surgery. He’s still rehabbing through it, and we’re still optimistic about it.”

The exact injury that Enagbare suffered has not yet been made clear. Alas, avoiding surgery and already hitting rehab is certainly an encouraging development for one of the Packers’ top edge rushers.

In two seasons in Green Bay, Enagbare has totaled 5.0 sacks and 13 tackles for loss in a rotational role. A fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of South Carolina, he has carved out a role defensively while seeing his opportunities on special teams grow as well.

Continuing to produce on special teams is what will keep Enagbare off the roster bubble. The Packers love versatile players, as it opens up roster spots to be used elsewhere when someone can fill multiple roles as Enagbare is capable.
