Brett Favre, the long-time quarterback for the Packers, despite his on and off retirements, has been asked by the Packers to rejoin the family. There's a great chance he will enter for one day and then retire as a Packers player. The Packers do not need and won't search for Favre to return as a player. The likely landing spot for Favre will be as a quarterbacks coach or perhaps a front office position. All of the grudge that started with his departure to the Jets, seems to have abated.Let's just say for a moment that it's only to retire his jersey, it's a celebration the entire city of Green Bay should grasp and welcome, since Favre did help the Packers return to the Super Bowl twice with Favre at the helm. Now here's the problem, that two egos cant exist on the same team, as Rodgers has already made the offense his own since Favre left to join the Jets. Also, Rodgers has enjoyed his share of success, and he doens't deserve to have Favre do anything other than retire, assistant coach, or optimally join the front office in some small capacity. If I were a Packers fan, I would be ecstatic at the prospect of Favre retiring from the game as a Packer, and welcome him back in any camaraderie except for starting quarterback. He has plenty of experience and could make an excellent quarterbacks coach, but the rivalry with Rodgers, will it allow for both to enjoy an equal success without egos going sour between the two?I think it's to retire Brett Favre and his jersey into the Packers' all-time records book, while giving the fans and the team one final chance to say goodbye. It's the right thing to do for a player that did so much for this team and its community. Favre returns to where it all began for him in Green Bay. The retirement of him and his jersey will etch Favre forever into the team's history books as one, if not the greatest Packers' quarterback of all time.Enjoy the ceremony Green Bay, he is one of the best all-time quarterbacks to ever play the game, and both he and the the Packers' faithful deserve it!
