Stringing wins together was something the Green Bay Packers did with ease last season. This year, not so much. Fresh off their rout of the previously unbeaten Texans, the Packers (3-3) head to St. Louis looking to win consecutive game for the first time this season. Coach Mike McCarthy says ''back-to-back'' is the team's theme this week. As impressive as Sunday's victory was, offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga says the team can't dwell on that. ''That game's over,'' he said Wednesday. ''Now it's time to go out this Sunday and do it again. It's going to be important to do that, and it's going to be a challenge.'' --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It was a win the Packers (3-3) very much needed, and their 42-24 beatdown of the previously undefeated Houston Texans on the road demonstrated just how good this year's team can be. Week 7 Power Rankings: Texans on shaky ground but maintain top spot

The NFL is a reactionary league. With only 16 games on the schedule, each one matters and its hard not to overreact to what is, in reality, a small sample size. Teams (like the Arizona Cardinals, say) can go from perceived legitimate contenders to nobodies overnight (a loss to the Bills tends to have that …
