Found April 23, 2013 on Steelers Depot:
In case you missed it, my podcast co-host David Todd had the Greg Cosell on his ESPN 970 radio show on Monday. It is a very good interview as Cosell talks linebackers, wide receivers, safeties and much, much more related to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the upcoming draft. In addition to the interview, Cosell also released his first round mock draft on Monday and has the Steelers taking Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner, which is a bit unusual. If you also have not seen them already, Cosell also has a series of draft positional videos up on the official website of the Philadelphia Eagles. These are Read more [...]

2013 Steelers Mock Draft Version 5.0 – Final Edition

The 2013 NFL draft will get underway in New York City Thursday evening, so it is now time for my final Pittsburgh Steelers mock draft of the year. Mock drafts are never satisfying to me as the odds of getting all of the picks correct really doesn't exist. The process, however, is satisfying, as I get a chance to watch a lot of tape and read a ton of material on several of the...

Karl Walter/Getty Images Zimbio.com Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said Monday during the Steelers’ pre-draft press conference that the team would not trade up in the first round and feels there will be a good player available at the 17th overall pick.

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert Says Team Needs Quantity Of Draft Picks Due To Departures

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert was a guest Tuesday morning on 105 The X Radio and clarified his reasoning as to why the organization is more open to trading down in the first round of the NFL draft than up. His answer was not surprising, but it no way signified that they are guaranteed to move down on Thursday. "The first thing that you got to do is to look...

Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 Draft: Predicting the Steelers’ First-Round Board (Part I)

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said Monday, via Steel City Insider, that the Steelers probably won’t be trading up from the No. 17 pick in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft. Tell us something we don’t know. The real question is whether the Steelers will trade down in the first round. As Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette pointed out, there isn’t...

Steelers Schedule Means Nothing Right Now

I admit that I am like most fans of professional football in that I get excited for the release of the upcoming season’s schedule but for different reasons perhaps. For me, it signals that we are extremely close to the NFL Draft and that the season itself is drawing nearer as well. What I don’t understand is why so many fans and experts enjoy getting caught up in their teams’...

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert on the team’s misses in the past drafts: ‘you just don’t know the real true personality until you stick them into your program’

When it comes down to the NFL Draft, fifty percent is evaluation and the other fifty is plain luck. However, Pittsburgh Steelers GM Kevin Colbert understands that scenario, and though as good as the Steelers are in the drafting business, there are pitfalls and false gold. Colbert talks of doing the due diligence, getting to know the players, trying to gauge their intelligence...

Steelers rumors: Ahmad Bradshaw, Max Starks, Casey Hampton

The upcoming NFL Draft will impact every team in the league, but Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert told reporters during today’s press conference that the future of several veterans will be impacted by the selections the club makes this weekend. Specifically, who the Steelers do or do not draft could impact the team’s willingness to sign free agents Casey Hampton...

Ravens LB Rolando McClain Arrested Sunday In Alabama

Quite a few in the fanbase were hoping that the Pittsburgh Steelers would sign inside linebacker Rolando McClain after he was waived from the Oakland Raiders earlier this month. I insisted, that despite head coach Mike Tomlin once having high praise for the Alabama product, that the Steelers weren't likely to touch him, regardless of the price. McClain, who I pointed out has...

Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 Draft: Predicting the Steelers First-Round Board (Part II)

Previously, we discussed the 12 players worthy of being drafted with the No. 17 pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2013 NFL draft. Now let’s look at seven more players the Steelers could take in the first round, but only if they trade down from No. 17. These players come with some questions, so if the Steelers draft them, they’ll need to hedge their bets by acquiring more...

James Harrison: I don’t hate the Steelers

Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to move on from him, Bengals linebacker James Harrison doesn’t hate them. “I don’t have a chip on my shoulder against the Steelers,” Harrison said, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I don’t hate the Steelers. All the things they’re saying, that the media is blowing it up to be … am I disappointed? Yeah, I’m disappointed...

Experts can’t Decide on Steelers First Round Pick

The 2013 NFL Draft is approaching faster than James Harrison can say Whodey!!! With the draft so close we should have at least a general idea of who the Pittsburgh Steelers might draft with their first round pick, but even the experts can’t agree. We searched through many different sites and articles to find the [...]

Steelers looking for depth, not impact players

The Pittsburgh Steelers don't think they'll find an impact player with the 17th pick in this week's draft. That's fine by general manager Kevin Colbert, who believes it takes any player at least one season to figure out how to play for one of the NFL's marquee franchises. There are plenty of holes to fill in Pittsburgh, which lost a handful of starters to free...
