The Green Bay Packers have one of the most storied stadiums in NFL history. From the likes of Bart Starr to Brett Favre, to today’s stars in Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews, there is a certain magic feel in the air when the Packers strap up for a home playoff game in the cold. With such great history and great players, fans might safely assume that Packers players love to play at home with extreme support from their home fans. However, if you ask one key player that isn’t the case at all. Per the Journal Sentinel: “I’m not opposed to playing (at home),” Jennings said. “Obviously, with our crowd and our fans, that’s what we want as a team. But going on the road, being isolated away from everyone, I think the focus level and the sense of urgency is just a tad higher because you’re dependent on your teammate. You travel, you’re in a hotel – you’re all together. It’s you guys against everyone else outside of that hotel.” When asked whether he would want to play in a Dome instead of cold Lambeau field, Jenning was quick in his response. “Absolutely,” he said. “I mean absolutely, I would be on turf, quick. Dome. Are you kidding me? If you let it affect you, it’s going to affect you. I’m not one that lets it affect me. I don’t particularly care for it, but it’s not an issue.” Unbiased, one could certainly understand the point from Jennings. But I’m sure Packers fans didn’t necessarily want to hear this before their upcoming playoff game against the Vikings.
