Packers WR Greg Jennings discussed his future with reporters on Thursday and it seems as though he’s fully aware that this could be his last season with the franchise. “Do I think it’s more likely that I will (play for another team)?” Jennings said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I can’t answer that with a definitive yes or no. Am I preparing myself for possibly having to play somewhere else? Absolutely. Is that what I would want to do? Not at all. They know that.” The two sides apparently haven’t discussed a long-term contract extension, which is something that Jennings has seen in the past. “That means something,” said Jennings, regarding the fact that they’ve discussed a new contract. “I don’t think we’re dumb. I don’t think we’re naïve, I don’t think those guys were naïve, either. Going into it, that was my way of thinking. I saw the trend. I don’t feel like I’m any exception. I go about my business as if I’m not exception.” Green Bay took the same approach with C Scott Wells and DE Cullen Jenkins before they ultimately signed elsewhere. The Packers continue to churn out receivers, so it’s not as though they’re desperate to secure Jennings long-term. With players like Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji all set to become free agents in the next few years, it might make more sense for them to pass on Jennings and allocate that money towards someone else. We have Jennings listed as the No. 7 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
