Kelly Gregg, who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, said he wasn't surprised by the Ravens cutting him last week.
Gregg had been the Ravens' starting nose tackle since 2002. The Ravens created $3.5 million in cap space by releasing him.
"I go back to the salary cap purge in Baltimore when we let Rob Burnett go," Gregg said. "We didn't think that would happen, but it did. It's a business. I have nothing to say but great things about the Ravens. They gave me an opportunity to play and I had some great memories."
Gregg spent Saturday flying to Kansas City. He met with members of the front office and his new teammates after agreeing to a new one-year contract.
Gregg said the Ravens did make an attempt to keep him.
"They tried to re-sign me, but the chips landed in other places," Gregg said. "Actually, I feel like a rookie starting all over again. I trained very hard during the lock out because I didn't...
