ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Washington Redskins top draft pick Robert Griffin III played only three offensive series and played behind a makeshift offensive line, but he still produced decent first-half results in his NFL debut. Griffin completed 4-of-6 passes for 70 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon, in a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium Thursday night. Despite playing behind an offensive line that featured three subs in the starting lineup, Griffin III guided the Redskins on a nifty, eight-play, 80-yard scoring drive in his third series. During the drive, the Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor connected with Garcon for completions of 20, 18 and 20 yards. The last of those completions gave Washington a 7-3 lead with 5:54 to go in the first quarter. Running back Evan Royster, starting in place of Tim Hightower, who's coming back from a torn ACL, aided the march. He gained 22 yards on four carries against a much-hyped Bills...

Rev Redskin believes in Robert Griffin III

Rev Redskin woke up with the Redskins on his mind yesterday. He believes that Robert Griffin III will set the Redskins free, or so he says. The video above speaks for itself, and you can't argue against the good reverend after watching Griffin last night. Sure, he had a slow start, but on his third drive, everything just clicked. Let's just hope Redskins fans...

RGIII, Mario set to make their preseason debuts

Looking forward to making his preseason debut, Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III revealed he has one apprehension. Griffin joked he would prefer not getting hit on Thursday, when the Redskins travel to play the Buffalo Bills. Good luck with that, because the Bills high-priced, retooled Mario Williams-led defensive line has a much different intention in making...

NFL pre-season football: uglier than our prom dates

Rookie Robert Griffin III makes his debut for the Washington Redskins tonight vs. the Buffalo Bills: the same team that humiliated the Washington offense in 2011, proving the need to chase RGIII. Here's a look at the ugly statistical side of Thursday's pre-season slate.

Six things to watch for in Redskins at Bills; five do not involve Robert Griffin III

I'm ready for some football. Even though Redskins at Bills is a pretend game, it beats TV replays of games played between teams that are not the Washington Redskins. Robert Griffin III is the most compelling personality of the rookie class. We have been comparing him to big signings of Redskins lore, but interest in this guy is beyond that. I don't believe that jersey sales...

Robert Griffin trying to pay attention on the field so he doesn’t do ‘retarded things’

Up to this point, Robert Griffin III has been everything the Redskins could ask for in a first-round draft pick. He is respectful to the media and fans and has never come off as cocky or arrogant. Like the rest of us, Griffin knows he could be a superstar in the NFL sooner rather than later. His preseason debut on Thursday night against Buffalo reaffirmed that, as RG3 looked impressive...

RG3 throws TD in preseason debut

Washington Redskins rookie QB Robert Griffin III needed only three passes on his third and final drive to show glimpses of stardom in his much-anticipated NFL preseason debut Thursday night.

NFL preseason will be very big for the Redskins

The organized team meetings, non sanctioned team meetings, and the summer training camp have come and gone for the Washington Redskins. This coming week the 2012 NFL season will come full swing as the first preseason games of the year will commence.  This preseason will be very big for the Redskins as they pull the bubble [...]

…to start the preseason. Tonight the Bills are hosting Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins in their first preseason game at 7 pm. The Buddy Nixon crew will be at the game doing our best to pump up what will be an understandably lukewarm preseason crowd. But don’t let 20,000 empty seats dampen your spirits, as the NFL regular season is just weeks away. We’re going...

Redskins' Griffin has solid game in NFL debut

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Washington Redskins top draft pick Robert Griffin III completed 4 of 6 passes for 70 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon, in his National Football League debut in a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium Thursday night. The touchdown proved to be all the Redskins would need in a 7-6 victory in a sloppily played...

More Ratings: CSN Mid-Atlantic Sets Record For NFL Preseason Game (Also: PGA Tour, IndyCar)

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic set a ratings record for NFL preseason coverage Thursday. In other news, competition from the Olympics resulted in record-low ratings for the PGA Bridgestone Invitational and a mere 0.5 rating for IndyCar on ABC. Record Rating For Washington Preseason Opener: Thursday’s Washington/Bills NFL preseason game, featuring the debut of Washington QB Robert...

Elder – Redskins QBs Prove What We Already Knew

Redskins QBs Prove What We Already Knew   As soon as the Redskins took QB Kirk Cousins in this past April’s Draft, insane talk about a potential QB competition in Washington began. Aside from the fact that Robert Griffin III was taken long before Cousins in the same Draft (with a price tag of three [...]

Things Are Looking Up In Cleveland!

If you’re a fan of the Cleveland Browns (cough), you were probably happy when the team traded up in April to select Trent Richardson, the University of Alabama running back who led the team to a national championship and kinda looks like Robert Griffin III had a man-baby with Benedict Cumberbatch. If you’ve been a fan of the Browns for more than seven months, you started waiting...

Redskins-Bills Winners & Losers

Handing out labels thanks to the Skins 7-6 preseason win over Buffalo, with a little help from my friends Matt Terl, JP Finlay and Jack Kogod. Winners Robert Griffin III – The only portion of this game I was able to watch was a flawless touchdown drive orchestrated with ease. So, yeah, winner. Terl’s two cents: “RG3 [is a winner], partially for doing solidly but mainly just...
