TEAMS: Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers, Minnesota Vikings
Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan says Rex Grossman has ''way too many turnovers, which is not acceptable.''
Grossman, meanwhile, keeps finding ways to shrug them off. He said this week that interceptions stick in the newspapers because of the attention they get, but they don't really stick in his head.
Grossman has 22 giveaways this season, which ties him for the NFL lead with Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers.
Grossman's best shot at a turnover-free game could come Saturday when the Redskins host the Minnesota Vikings, who have lost six straight and haven't picked off a pass in nine games.

2011 Fantasy Football, Week 16 Sit Em/Start Em: Grossman Set For A Big Day vs Vikings
Rex Grossman (credits below) Start ‘EmRex Grossman (Washington Redskins, Week 16: Minnesota Vikings) If it’s a good matchup, Grossman has shown he can take advantage of it. And Minnesota is about as good as matchups get for quarterbacks. The Vikings have allowed at least two touchdown passes in all but one week since week five and 25 total touchdown passes over that...
The confounding case of Rex Grossman
While Rex Grossman’s numbers always have him on the fringe of the bench, he has found ways to win against the Vikings. This year, his Redskins are better with him as the starter than without him.
Play Grossman, bench Lloyd Week 16
Is it championship week? Or do you play in one of those ridiculous, misguided leagues that has its Fake Football Bowl in Week 17? Either way, our Position vs. Fantasy Defensive Points Allowed tool can help you to a title.
As always, please remember that the players listed are mostly meant to be borderline guys, who need reasons for you to play or bench them. You won't see recommendations...
Redskins' Grossman undeterred by turnovers
Resiliency is familiar to Rex Grossman. That's how the Washington Redskins quarterback has survived 82 turnovers in 52 career games. Two more interceptions — upping his career tally to 58 — came in Sunday's unexpected win at the New York Giants. But the 31-year-old Grossman found a way to shake ...
DMV: The Cost Of Benching Rex Grossman For Three Games
Would the Skins be a playoff team if they didn’t bench Rex? Probably not, and I’m glad they took a look at Beck, but it may have cost them a game or so. [SB Nation D.C.]

Time for Giants Defense to Man Up
Enough is enough. It's an issue that's been highlighted on this Giants blog again. And again. And again. And again. And again.
The Giants Tampa 2 defense seems to get a bit more porous with each passing week. For whatever reason, this team's personnel is not built for zone coverage. Whether it be through constantly biting on play action fakes or just sheer inability to...
Is Tim Tebow the Best-Worst Player or The Worst-Best Player?
There are many narratives this year in the NFL. Which is no different from any other year. There’s always one main story the networks slam down the throats of their viewers and since there is no Brett Favre in 2011 to help shoulder the load, it seems like the narratives are lasting longer and taking up more time for the talking heads. Tim Tebow, unfortunately, is this years Brett...
Redskins-Vikings best and worst
Best and worst moments from the Redskins’s 33-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at FedEx Field.
Worst Back-to-Back Plays: A 59-yard Brandon Banks touchdown run on a reverse was called back due to a holding penalty on Darrel Young. On the next play, Rex Grossman threw an interception to a Minnesota defense that hadn’t had an interception since Week 5. With at least one interception...
Behind Enemy Lines: Vikings Edition
We all know what the D.C. media says about the Redskins, but what’s going on behind enemy lines? During the season, we head over to the opposing side and look in on the game chatter in preparation for that week’s matchup.
This week we’re checking out what the Vikings and the Minnesota media are saying about the Redskins.
The media says…

Forget this season, Bears have big issues to sort out in 2012
Whether it’s Rex Grossman for Kyle Orton or Craig Krenzel for Jonathan Quinn, a new starting quarterback usually elicits an automatic wave of enthusiasm and hope among Bears fans. But the likelihood that Josh McCown will replace Caleb Hanie for the game against the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday night is unlikely to snap anyone out of the dreadful funk surrounding this year’s...
This is what a ‘sellout’ looks like on Christmas Eve in D.C.
Officially, the Washington Redskins sold out their 368th consecutive home game on Sunday, extending an NFL record. More officially, the NFL's sellout streaks are a bunch of nonsense.
FedEx Field has capacity for 82,000 fans. Announced attendance on Sunday was 68,370, with actual attendance far lower still. Look at that picture. It was taken midway through the first quarter on...
First Quarter Impressions
AP Image
Much like last week, the Redskins turned the ball over early, but not because of aggressive play call down the field. Instead, it came via a breakdown in protection that led to a sack-fumble. The defense had a stellar stand, yielding two yard, but the Vikings were already in field goal range.
Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell doesn’t miss those: 3-0.

Green Print: Jets' keys for Saturday
The Giants’ pass coverage has been abysmal. Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo carved the Giants up. Rex Grossman kept converting third downs. There have been plenty of open receivers over the last month against the mostly zone coverage employed by defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
