Photo via Seahawks.com After days of rumors and snubs, a seeming lack of urgency on the part of the front office, and about 3,000 too-many mentions of the name "Gruden", the Eagles finally have their next head coach. Possibly. But, they definitely do. Maybe. According to former NFL-er Kevin O'Connell of San Diego's 1360 AM, Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is on his way to Philadelphia not for a second interview, but for contract talk. At last, the Eagles have their coach--a defensive-minded one who is not Bill Cowher or Brian Kelly or Bill O'Brien, too, thank god! BUT WAIT. Before you break out the midnight-green confetti and erect a shrine to Buddy Ryan (just kidding, we all know you already have a shrine to Buddy Ryan), Geoff Mosher is here to ruin your day with his usually dilligent reporting on Comcast Sportsnet: Gus Bradley will have his second meeting with the Eagles today and remains high on their list of candidates to replace Andy Reid but reports that a deal is nearly complete are greatly exaggerated and premature, a league source told CSNPhilly.com.Bradley is currently en route from Seattle to Philadelphia on owner Jeffrey Lurie’s private jet and will land sometime later this afternoon to continue an interview that started Saturday in Atlanta but warranted more time for discussion. Damn you, Geoff. But surely this is a case of he said she said, right? In the case of Local Eagles Beat Writer vs. Some Dude On Twitter From San Diego Radio, I'm going with the latter ... because Howard Eskin, that bastion of likeability, says Gus Bradley is going to be the next coach, too! Or not, according to a more recent tweet from Eskin: Gus Bradley is NOW in Phl w #eagles front office of Lurie, Roseman and Smolenski for 2nd round of talks. #GusBus So it's settled. Gus Bradley is definitely, maybe, for sure, possibly the Eagles new head coach.
