New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was asked if he’ll be ready for this Sunday night’s match up with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I definitely anticipate playing,” Nicks said today.

Nicks says if last week was a normal week, he would have likely played.

“I don’t think it was a setback,” Nicks said of how his foot reacted after the Buccaneers game, per Giants.com. “I think it was more of a cautious situation where it was just too quick of a turnaround on the foot, all that pounding on the foot that I did that last game.

“I think if it was a regular Sunday and it was a normal week, I would’ve been able to go out there and compete.”

My guess is that Nicks will start practicing on Thursday, maybe Wednesday at the earliest.

Ahmad Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks, and David Diehl remain out for New York Giants

After three well deserved days off, the New York Giants returned to practice on Monday. Unfortunately, for eight players their mini-vacations continued for a variety of different reasons. Included in those that were not participating in the portion of practice open to the media were running back Ahmad Bradshaw (neck), wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (foot) and offensive lineman David...

The Giants Running Backs: Bradshaw vs. Brown

The fight for the Giants starting running back spot has all the makings of a great boxing fight.  It’s the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight of the Giants organization but this fight is actually happening. In the red corner stands Ahmad Bradshaw, who has been the Giants starting running back since 2008.  He is the defending champion and “title holder” if you will. In the blue corner...

The Giants rallied last week and won, can they continue that trend. Week 4 preview.

The Giants played a really great game last Thursday when they traveled to Charlotte and beat the Panthers. With Nicks and Bradshaw out, they had some young guys step up. I think they may have found an every down back in Brown. Bradshaw has been banged up a lot the last few seasons. Can Eli and company continue to roll? I'm sitting at 26-22 after a terrible week 3....

Greg Schiano Says Kneel-Down Against Eli Manning, Giants Wasn't Meant to Injure Anyone (Video)

Putting pressure on a team kneeling down to run out the clock at the end of a game could be considered a dirty call, but Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano doesn't think so. Schiano had his defense rush Giants quarterback Eli Manning at the end of a Week 2 matchup in which New York came out victorious. Schiano told Pro Football Talk on Friday that he wasn't telling his players...

Schiano gets aggressive against kneel-down again

Despite the heat he took from New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin and others for his aggressive approach to an opponent's kneel-down in the closing seconds last week, Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano did it again on Sunday against the Cowboys. The Bucs went after the ball three straight times at the end of a 16-10 loss to the Cowboys. But Dallas was ready for it. Schiano...

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw has guarantees that he will play when his team takes on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Rested Giants prepared for anything against Eagles

If there is a common thread in recent games between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, it's wild endings. It's one of the reasons Giants defensive captain Justin Tuck loves playing in those games. ''It's one of those games you go in knowing you have to play your best game to win, and I think they are saying the same about us,'' Tuck said Monday...

LeSean McCoy: I really don’t like Osi Umenyiora, he’s a ‘ballerina’

LeSean McCoy and Osi Umenyiora have hurled so much trash talk back and forth over the past two seasons that it’s gotten to the point where people wonder if they are joking. Are these two actually best friends who are just toying with all of us and laughing every time we write something about their feud? If that’s the case, they are doing a terrific job of acting. In an E:60 special...
