Ken Hamlin wrapped up the last strenuous day of training camp with two interceptions. Could it be a sign of things to come?
“Just getting accustomed to everything that’s going on around here,” the free safety said Thursday morning. “Just trying to make sure that I learn as much as possible before the season gets started, and we’ll see how things go from there.”
Unofficially, Hamlin finished camp with six interceptions, which is double what his nearest competitor (strong safety Dawan Landry) produced thus far. Hamlin has picked off Ravens quarterbacks twice in one practice twice – Aug. 7 and Thursday.
Hamlin, who signed a one-year deal in June, would seem to provide the defense with a capable safety net in the event that eight-time Pro Bowler Ed Reed’s return continues to be delayed by his recovery from offseason hip surgery.
