Former Notre Dame safety Chinedum Ndukwe joined the ranks of Martin Luther King, Jr., Christopher Columbus, St. Patrick and struggling limo driver Lloyd Christmas yesterday in Ohio. Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory officially proclaimed Thursday Feb. 10 to be Chinedum Ndukwe Day in honor of the great work his foundation has done for the city and the rest of the world. Chinedum, who was drafted in the seventh round by the Bengals in 2007, start the Ndukwe Foundation in 2009 to try to inspire local kids to live physically and mentally healthy lifestyles. The foundation hosts Wellness days at various times throughout the year and also helps needy families in the area. To help the foundation grow, Ndukwe has also taken classes at Harvard’s business school and the Wharton School of Business (Univ. of Pennsylvania) as part of the NFL Business Development Program.
