Pro Sports Daily:
San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh expects injured defensive tackle Justin Smith to be ready to play Sunday night in a key NFC West matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Smith left last Sunday night's game against New England in the third quarter with an elbow injury. The three-time Pro Bowl player underwent an MRI on Monday. "Knowing what I know of Justin Smith and the situation, I think 'The Cowboy' will be around, saddled up, roping and riding," Harbaugh said on his radio show. "If it's humanly possible, The Cowboy will be out there, roping and riding." Smith, 33, has the started 185 consecutive games, the third-longest active streak in the NFL behind Ronde Barber's 213 and London Fletcher's 197. Smith has 66 tackles, a team-high 77 quarterback pressures, 52 quarterback hits and three sacks this season.
BEST OF MAXIM
Pretty sure David Whitley’s nightmare has been realized when the emergence of Colin Kaepernick has inspired little blonde, white girls to cover their arms in fake tats and spew hippity hop on YouTube videos. I must say, her delivery is a bit on the slow side, but the fact that she has perfect little kid pronunciation of words (“rise” is “wise”, “repeat” is “weepeat”...
Sarah Redden in the new rapping YouTube sensation. This 5-year old little girl is rap/singing about Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers going to the Super Bowl. This video is a bit more fancy than most home made YouTube videos. Not to mention they went all out with the fake tattoos, and can even pronounce “organically” correct. Check out the video below.
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh would offer up any details regarding the results from Justin Smith‘s MRI that he took on Monday.
“It’s really going to be how he is today, tomorrow and Wednesday before we know anything,” said Harbaugh, via CSN Bay Area.
Smith suffered an undisclosed injury against the Patriots and his loss had an immediate impact on the team’s...
PEOPLE: THEY'RE THE WORST
After retweeting a death threat he received on Wednesday, it appears that San Francisco 49ers kicker David Akers has shut down his Twitter account.
A couple of weeks back, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was riding the bench as Alex Smith lead the team to the top of the NFC West.
Now, Kaepernick has them one win away from clinching the division and he has earned the admiration of 49ers fans across the world.
Check out this rather cute tribute rap song that a little 49ers fans did in honor of Colin:
After initially saying that after Colin Kaepernick became the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, it felt as if “someone took the handcuffs off me,” tight end Vernon Davis is now saying that he and Kaepernick are not on the same page.
Of course, if you looked inside the numbers over the past few games, you could have figured that out for yourself.
Linebacker Aldon Smith loves playing in prime time. It takes him back to how he spent so many Friday nights in high school under the lights.
San Francisco teammate Anthony Dixon and others become similarly nostalgic when they take the field these days with the football spotlight on them.
And the 49ers (10-3-1) sure seem to thrive on the NFL's big stage, going 5-0 this season...
The Colin Kaepernick rap by five year old Sarah Redden is making its way into the hearts of San Fransisco 49er fans and the like, it has been going viral all over the internet.
Sarah raps about Kaepernick, the 49ers quarterback in the following video.
“Wearing No. 7 like Colin Kaep, talking Super Bowl wins, he’s bringing them back,” Sarah raps in the video, covered in fake...
Going on the road and beating the New England Patriots snapping a 20 game winning streak at home in December, earned 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick the award for NFC offensive player of the week award. Kaepernick, the controversial choice of Jim Harbaugh is making the man look like a genius at this point. Kaepernick led the 49ers to a 41-34 win and the second-year quarterback...
By a 5-year-old girl who really, really likes quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers.
When Aaron Rodgers was drafted in 2005, it was 23 spots behind the No. 1 pick, Alex Smith, who was picked by Rodgers’ hometown 49ers.
Instead of getting a chance to start and being recognized for his ability, Rodgers took the clipboard behind Brett Favre, while Smith was given the run of the San Francisco offense in his first season.
Within a few years, though, the storylines changed...
Bay Area native Ron Caragher was introduced as the football coach at San Jose State on Monday.
Caragher, who spent the past six years at San Diego, replaces Mike MacIntyre to become the 28th coach at the school.
MacIntyre left to take the head job at Colorado. The Spartans finished the regular season 10-2 and will play in the Military Bowl.
Caragher replaced Jim Harbaugh, who...
I’m going to be pretty peeved if the world ends before I get a chance to see the Seahawks and 49ers rematch on Sunday. The Mayan apocalypse can wait until after we see what is shaping up to be one of the best games of the season. The implications of the game are huge; if the 49ers win the game, they claim the NFC west … if the Seahawks win, there’s still a chance that they’ll...
