The Blue Screen:
Tom Coughlin is holding out hope that injured defensive end Justin Tuck will play on Sunday in Tampa Bay, possibly with a harness on his injured left shoulder.
Tuck, who has a partially torn labrum as the Daily News reported today, is not practicing today and is “day to day” according to Coughlin. The coach added he’s hoping to see some progress by the end of the week because “That’s all I can do.”
Though Coughlin didn’t address the specific nature of Tuck’s injury, he confirmed the Daily News report that the injury was the same one Tuck suffered in 2003 as a junior at Notre Dame. He missed two weeks of spring practice that year, but not a single game during the season.
In fact, he had a school-record 13 ½ sacks while playing through the pain.
