We’ve seen this before from Josh Freeman and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was 2010 when Freeman was anointed the starting quarterback for the entire season. He responded by throwing 25 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He would finish the season with a 95.9 quarterback rating and the hearts of the Buccaneers faithful. Many believed they had finally found a franchise quarterback that could take them back to the playoffs. 2011 was nothing but a disappointment for Freeman. Not only did the touchdown passes dramatically decrease to 16, the interceptions skyrocketed to 22. His performance left many scratching their heads as the Bucs only managed to win a total of four games coming off a strong 10-6 campaign.… Read more

Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff chances suffer a major blow

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers allowed a great opportunity to move into the wildcard playoff race yesterday against the Atlanta Falcons to slip away. Despite not taking advantage of losses of the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and Dallas Cowboys, the Buccaneers now are facing an uphill battle for the remainder of the season.CB Eric Wright was out of the lineup yesterday against...

Bucs confident they can stay in playoff race

Tampa Bay's resilience will be tested as the Buccaneers strive to rebound from the team's first loss in a month and remain in playoff contention. Sunday's one-point loss to the Atlanta Falcons stopped a four-game winning streak, but was not nearly as costly as it could been for the Bucs. Three other clubs pursuing what would be the second NFC wild-card position also...

Bucs bothered by inability to turn drives into TDs

Connor Barth came up short on a 56-yard field goal attempt that might have helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Atlanta Falcons. It was the three field goals he made earlier in the game that bothered them more. If they could have turned one of them into a touchdown, they might be celebrating their fifth straight win instead of bemoaning a 24-23 loss Sunday. ''It'...

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers claimed WR/KR David Gilreath off of waivers on Tuesday afternoon after the Pittsburgh Steelers let go of the return specialist, per The Pewter Report. The move figures to jeopardize punt returner Roscoe Parrish‘s job, considering Parrish is averaging 7.7 yards per return and the team likely wouldn’t keep two players this similar on their 53-man roster...

Reasons to Be Thankful After a Buc Loss

This past Sunday, the 6-4 Buccaneers faced the 9-1 Falcons. For the Bucs, it was the opportunity to prove themselves as legitimate playoff contenders after a string of wins against less impressive foes. However, and no need for a spoiler alert here, the Bucs lost 24-23. Going in, I’d figured that a close game would be something of a moral victory. That the progress made to nearly...
