It was there for the taking, the pass, the end zone, the game. But it wasn't just the pass that Mark Clayton dropped at the 8-yard line that cost the Ravens a win in New England. It was a series of mistakes they made right from the beginning. Let's look at the big ones:
1) Chris Carr hasn't distinguished himself on kick returns. His fumbled kickoff to start today's game gave the Patriots three easy points. Bad way to start. He was replaced by Lardarius Webb on the Patriots' last kickoff, and gave the Ravens their best kick return of the day.
2) Roughing the passer penalties on Haloti Ngata and Terrell Suggs. The Ravens should have no complaint with the penalties. They were valid by the rules: no hitting a quarterback's head, no hitting his knees. Ngata's left hand struck Tom Brady's helmet; whether through force or good acting, Brady went to the ground and had to adjust his helmet.
