Heath Miller is coming off his most productive year in the NFL. With more than 800 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns, Miller is a consistent threat that the Steelers have been able to exploit. He's an all-around tight end that can do a little bit of everything, and most importantly, he just does his job. Miller is also coming off of a torn ACL, MCL and PCL. The injury occurred in December, and the thirty year old tight end had reconstructive surgery in January. It's hard to tell if or when Miller will be back to 100%, or at least as close to it as he'll get, but it appears that Miller may be missing the start of the regular season. Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Miller may not be ready for the start of the regular season. Miller's absence would put more pressure on all of the Steelers' receivers, especially tight end Matt Spaeth, who would fill in for Miller. Still, Heath Miller doesn't think his absence would have a huge impact on the Steelers' productivity. "We have a really good room, a lot of capable guys in there," Miller said. "I think maybe one of the best top to bottom that I've been starting camp with. Hopefully we'll be able to keep everybody healthy, and I think everybody is capable of contributing and doing a good job." The lingering question about Miller is, even once he gets back on the field, will he be the same great tight end he was before his knee injury, or will he be a shell of his former self? For that answer, we'll have to weight and see how he performs once he makes it back in the game. [follow]
