Heath Miller with his first catch in the game against the 49ers now has the most receptions for a tight end in Steelers history. He was tied with Elbie Nickel prior to that catch. He now is at 4th in all time receptions for the Steelers. With 6 more receptions he will pass Hall of Famer Lynn Swann. That’s quite an accomplishment for Heath with a long career still ahead of him.

Lights Go Out On Steelers Playoff Bye

I haven't watched any reaction or sought any feedback regarding Monday night's loss in San Francisco. Not because I'm avoiding it because I'm overly crushed. Disappointed, to be sure, but this outcome was largely an expected one. I try to avoid live blogging Steelers games at KSK mostly because I'd like to focus on watching my favorite team play rather than moderating...

Report: Steelers to start Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to start in Monday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers after overcoming an ankle sprain. Roethlisberger sustained the injury in a 14-3 win against Cleveland on Dec. 8 and practiced for the first time on Friday. According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette sources, Roethlisberger showed enough in practice on Saturday...

Ryan Clark Thinks 49ers Staged Power Outage to Show they Need a New Stadium

The start to the Steelers-49ers game Monday night was delayed because of a power outage caused when a transformer blew up outside the stadium. There was another delay in the second quarter when the backup source went out. Both delays were extremely embarrassing, and Steelers safety Ryan Clark has a theory about the power outages. [...]

James Harrison Turns The Lights Out!

There have been two power outages at Candlestick Park in San Francisco during tonight's Monday Night Football game between the Steelers and the 49ers.  Before kickoff there was a 20 minute delay after a transformer exploded, and there was a second delay of 16 minutes at the 12:13 mark of the second quarter. Steelers Use 49er’s Game to Redifine Losing. You Should Too.

"I can't even keep my hat on straight" Courtesy of Mix 106.5 fm I freakin’ love the Pittsburgh Steelers.  I love that team from its one sided helmet decal to the Rooney family. The players, coaches, stadium, The Terrible Towel, Troy’s shampoo commercials, I am down with all of it. I don’t pretend to be anything but a total homer. But I’m a homer living in the...

Power Outage Delays "Monday Night Football"

As Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was announced as being active against the San Francisco 49ers, the stadium had different ideas. The start of Monday Night Football at Candlestick Park in San Francisco was delayed Monday when a transformer exploded just outside the stadium. The start of the game was delayed indefinitely and ESPN showed aerial footage of fans...

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Travels To San Francisco, Status Still Undecided

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to monitor the health of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who's nursing a sprained left ankle, according to a team source. The team has yet to make a decision on Roethlisberger's status, and the quarterback will travel with the team to San Francisco on Sunday ahead of Monday night's game against the 49ers. If the Baltimore Ravens lose to...

49ers offensive line patching things together

Even with linebacker James Harrison suspended from the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers defense, the San Francisco 49ers offensive line has no reason to celebrate.

Your Steelers-49ers Open Thread

Hey, these are two teams that are very good on Monday Night Football! Well, sort of. The Niners are 10-3, but they lost to the John Skelton Experience last time out, and the Steelers are 10-3, but stuck with an injured Ben Roethlisberger and without human penalty flag James Harrison. That said, if outside linebacker play is your thing, this is your game. Jason Worilds, he's a...

Utility still investigating Candlestick blackout, mayor embarrassed

The blackouts that left Candlestick Park in the gloom during a much-anticipated Monday Night Football matchup also dimmed the spotlight that would have otherwise been shining on the 49ers after their victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
