Heath Miller should be a big part of the Steelers offense this week against the Chiefs.  In the Chiefs last 4 games they have 14 catches to tight ends.  Four of those have gone for touchdowns.  This stat should really be the last 3 games because the game versus Denver where Tim Tebow threw the ball 8 times should not count. New England struggled in the first half against the Chiefs.  That was until they started hitting their tight ends and marching down the field.  Gronkowski and Hernandez combined for 8 catches and 140 yards.  Gronkowski scored both touchdowns for the Patriots that were caught by Tight Ends.  After the Patriots found this little niche they never looked back.  Going from a 3-0 score in the second quarter to a final score of 34-3. Good Tight Ends have had big weeks versus the Chiefs.  Rob Gronkowski had 96 yards and two touchdowns.  Chargers Tight End Antonio Gates also had one of his biggest games of the year making 4 catches for 73 yards.  Heath Miller when he is u...

Looking At The Steelers Remaining 6 Games On The 2011 Schedule

The Steelers well awaited bye week has come and gone and the players are all headed back to Pittsburgh to get ready for the final sprint to the finish line and hopefully another playoff birth. They currently exit the bye with a 7-3 record and sit in second place in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens because of the two losses to them this season. Were the season to end tonight...

LaMarr Woodley Extremely Questionable for Sunday Night

Steelers Linebacker LaMarr Woodley was limited in practice today for the Steelers.  Woodley strained his hamstring 3 weeks ago versus the New England Patriots.  The injury has kept Woodley out of the last 2 games.  It was thought that Woodley would be ready to return after the bye week.  That thought is very up in the air right now.  Woodley worked on the side during practice...

Steelers Six From Around The Web – November 23rd – Chiefs Week Has Begun Edition

The official game release is up for the Steelers week 12 Sunday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and as always it is loaded with great information, stats and milestones. Steelers Bengals Week 13 Game Will Not Be Flexed To Sunday Night

It was announced this morning that the Steelers week 13 home game against the Cincinnati Bengals, a week from this coming Sunday, will not be flexed to a night game and thus will remained as scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. EST on December 4th. There had been some consideration given to moving the game to the national Sunday night broadcast, but that will not end up being the case...

Success Story Just Starting for Brown

Steelers Make 2012 Hall of Fame Semi-Finalists List

At the end of September, I put out a post and subsequent results commentary that had readers vote on who gets into the HOF in 2012 – Jerome Bettis, Dermontti Dawson, and Bill Cowher.  Well that list just got a bit shorter after this afternoon. … [visit site to read more]Steelers Make 2012 Hall of Fame Semi-Finalists List - Nice Pick, Cowher - Nice Pick, Cowher - A...

Dermontti Dawson a Semi-Finalist for HOF

Former UK center Dermontti Dawson was among the 26 semifinalists nominated today for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2012. When Dawson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1988, he became one of the NFL’s greatest centers to ever play the game and redefined the center position. What’s more amazing than his success is how he came to become the great player...

Steelers Round Up: Stray hands, disappearing fish and Thanksgiving

It’s been a long couple of weeks with the Steelers on the bye, good thing we had Crosby to distract us.  The Steelers are coming off the bye in a great position to make a good run, only two more teams with winning records left to face, the Bengals and the 49ers (who were hoping will take down the Ravens Thanksgiving evening).  The Steelers have been busy on their off week...

Chiefs Woeful Monday Night Should Make Steelers Hungry

Haley must be on the hot seat after a dismal season thus far. Courtesy nfl.comLast night was another awful Monday Night Football game – if you are anyone else other than a Patriots fan.  Is it just me, or does it seem like the majority of SNF and MNF games have been blowouts?  Awful TV.  Todd Haley continued to prove that he has a mediocre football team and cannot coach...

Ben Practices Through the Pain

Ben Roethlisberger experienced pain in his re-fractured right thumb upon returning to practice Monday. Here's the story, along with other Monday practice notes.

Roethlisberger expected to play against Chiefs

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says quarterback Ben Roethlisberger should be on the field and playing effectively Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs despite a fractured right thumb.

Big Ben's broken thumb begets adjustments

Unorthodox handoffs and some snaps from a formation that isn't used very often are adjustments Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers might make as the star quarterback plays the rest of the season with a broken right thumb.
