Well, we’ve made the trip here alive. So, that’s a bonus. That means we’re live from the Black Hole, the most notorious home field in the NFL. And considering I spotted a Jack Tatum jersey right when I walked out of my hotel, I can see why. I’ve now seen about 10 of them. Anyway, the newly sodded, non-baseball style field at the place now called Coliseum looks shiny and nice, and a few Patriots are out there testing it out. We’ll have inactives for you in less than an hour, but there’s only one person we’re waiting on. Last night, of course, the Patriots announced some major downgrades, including two of their corners. We’ll see how they piece it together. Right now, WR Taylor Price is on the field loosening up, perhaps a sign he may play. It would be his first action of the season. Anyway, be back in a bit…

Here’s a Tom Brady Doll that Looks Nothing Like Tom Brady (Pictures)

Someone over at Bleacher Creature Toys must have been high when they tackled the Tom Brady doll design.  The Boston Herald shared their website with us on Saturday, and if you stroll on over you’ll see that there are quite a few dolls that look like the people they are intended to look like.  The [...]

Vote: Which Patriots Player Has Been Most Impressive Through Week 4?

There are plenty of questions about the New England Patriots even after a 3-1 start, but they have gotten there on the strength of several individual performances. Tom Brady is an early-season candidate for MVP. With 1,553 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions through four games, he's on pace to break both Dan Marino's single-season yardage record (5,084) and his own...

Patriots Get Dinged Up in Oakland

The Patriots had some key players go down with injuries in the game earlier tonight, none bigger than LB Jerod Mayo. Mayo left the game in the second quarter with a left knee injury and eventually was carted to the locker room. He never returned to the game. Mayo is a captain on the defense, leads the huddle, and is the team’s top tackler. Losing Mayo for any period of time, even...

Tom Brady plays mistake-free in 31-19 win over Raiders

Tom Brady didn’t light up the stat sheet in Sunday, as the Patriots looked to establish something of running with both Green-Ellis, and rookie Stevan Ridley. Brady finished the game with 226 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 100.1 quarterback rating. While Brady didn’t “spin it” like he has in weeks… read more.

The Patriots will try not to “get caught up in the fussing” at the Black Hole… and links!

We’ve spent some time this week discussing the Black Hole, home of the Raiders and one of the most notorious fan bases. Just hanging around last night, I was warned at least three times from walking around there without protection (yikes). This is a topic that Herald columnist Ron Borges, an ex-Raiders beat reporter, discussed in today’s paper. His point, and I think it’s a...

Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin is the latest NFL analyst to enter the “best receiver in football” debate. Todd Haley and Jason Garrett both have Calvin Johnson at the top of the list, as does Andre Johnson. Rob Ryan ranks Miles Austin and Dez Bryant towards the top. But Michael Irvin? Well the former [...]

New Blood Not Much Help For Patriots

Bill Belichick made a conscientious effort to bring in new veteran bodies to help his young team. Those veterans have yet to have any significant impact. Some may never pan out.
