This isn’t exactly the cavalry coming over the hill, but the Giants’ beleaguered, battered and just plain bad defense will get some help this week. Linebacker Michael Boley (knee) and Defensive tackle Chris Canty (calf) are both expected to practice on Wednesday. Considering the defense has now had its worst three-game stretch since 1973, I can’t imagine that’s enough to solve all their problems. But every little bit helps. Meanwhile, CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) probably won’t do much this week, but Tom Coughlin said that it’s possible he’ll do some individual drills next week. That would be the bye week, by the way, which means the Giants could possibly get him back before November is over, too. As for the injuries from the Giants’ game in Philly on Sunday - - the physical ones, not the psychological ones - - Coughlin said both WR Domenik Hixon (hip pointer) and WR Sinorice Moss (foot) are “sore”.
