CLEVELAND - NOVEMBER 16: Ray Rice #27 of the Baltimore Ravens runs the ball in the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns at Cleveland Browns Stadium on November 16, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo by Matt Sullivan/Getty Images)

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was on the Boomer and Carton show on Wednesday regaling the hosts of the radio program with tales of what is what like to be a participant in the high-flying excitement, the unbridled joy and the raucous revelry of Tuesday’s Super Bowl championship celebration and parade. The highlight? Or perhaps lowlight? When video surfaced of Ray Rice falling off a parade float. Via CBS (by way of Deadspin): Rice said he was so engaged with the fans in Baltimore during Tuesday’s parade that he took a spill off his float, caught himself “in the push-up position, got back up and said ‘Let’s party.’” “Hey I’ve gotta tell you a funny story,” he said. “You know, the float stopped short and I fell off of it, but I caught myself. I’m good though. I’m telling y’all that because y’all are my boys. Ray Rice has no injuries. I fell off the float, but I’m good.” And here’s the aforementioned Zapruder-like quality video of Ray Rice taking his spill: Ha. Thankfully, Rice’s spill wasn’t horrible, but that fall could have been ugly and ended tragically. At the same time, had Rice been injured, Ray Lewis probably would simply laid his holy hands upon Rice and healed him with a simple prayer. A Parade? Who needs it? That’s why I avoid the real ones and stick with the magazine of the same name. If you ask me, “Ask Marilyn” is some of the finest, most informative and witty material you can find in a magazine-type thingy that comes buried in the ads of  my Sunday paper.
