Found November 10, 2011 on Cincinnati Bengals Blog:
Andy Dalton isn’t playing like a rookie, A.J. Green is making downfield plays that were missing from this offense for at least the last four seasons and the defense has returned and exceeded its 2009 form. All are cornerstones of a team that has gone from 2-6 last year to 6-2 this year. The foundation though is what you haven’t heard. In other words, it has been a drama-free year. For example: Last year at midseason: “I don’t understand. I don’t know what it is. We find ways to lose the game. You would think that, having a lead going into halftime, we could capitalize and build off that. We may go 2-14 at the rate we’re playing.” This year: Crickets chirping. The only memorable comment has been Marvin Lewis’ comment before Buffalo “And you know, at the end of this week when we’re 2-2.” There still are some frustrations, but they are kept in house instead of in print. “In some ways, I think we have lot of leaders in this room. I d...

The 4th quarter could be huge

The 4th quarter could be big this Sunday. As Bengals fans, we all know how big Andy Dalton and the Bengals offense has been in the 4th quarter. Of the Bengals 6 wins, 4 were on come from behind scores in the 4th quarter. This season the Bengals are outscoring their opponents 87-43 in the [...]

NFL Rookie of The Year: Comparing Andy Dalton and Cam Newton

Two weeks ago during the Bengals/Seahawks game, I posed the question: “If Dalton leads the Bengals to the playoffs, and Cam Newton leads the Panther to 5 or 6 wins, who would win the NFL offensive rookie of the year?” The fact that this question is even controversial just boggles my mind. But go ahead and listen to the 386 NFL analysts at ESPN, surf the web for NFL mid...

Week 10 NFL Game Picks

Bengals(+3) over Steelers Call me crazy but, I believe in Andy Dalton and the Bengals defense. But more importantly I believe in Marvin Lewis's ability to motivate this team. Detroit (+3) over Bears The Bears have been playing much better lately but I trust Stafford more than I trust Cutler in big game situations. Chargers(-7) over Raiders...

Clark: Can’t compare Dalton to Palmer right now

Count the Steelers defense among those who have a healthy respect for Bengals QB Andy Dalton.  Safety Ryan Clark said during a conference call on Wednesday that the Bengals coaches are calling a very intelligent game for him and that Dalton has quickly developed a good trust with his receivers. Clark noted that the biggest thing he has been impressed with is the Bengals belief in...

Bengals comfortable in whole new offense

The task seemed overwhelming at first. The Cincinnati Bengals were trying to teach an entirely new offense to a group led by a rookie receiver, with only two weeks to go before the first preseason game. Everyone expected a rough start. A 6-2 mark at the season's halfway point? Dream on. ''I think it's definitely better than anybody would have expected it to have...

We had Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy on The Terrible Podcast yesterday and his latest article focuses on the preparation of rookie quarterback Andy Dalton as he gets ready to face Dick LeBeau and the Steelers defense for his first time. The only rookie quarterback to beat LeBeau was the Ravens Troy Smith in the 2007 regular-season finale. Trevor Ebaugh points out on the ESPN stats...
