Found July 16, 2013 on Fox Sports Ohio:
A funny thing happened to Eric Herman's summer vacation plans. He'd circled New York as a destination back in the winter; he just couldn't officially put it on his calendar. Being an NFL Draft prospect brings much uncertainty. By the last Saturday in April, though, Herman's plans to make his first visit to New York -- and New Jersey -- had been accelerated. The New York Giants selected him in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. For a kid from Oregon, Ohio and Ohio University, he's come a long way. And he hopes he's just getting started. "It's starting to sink in," Herman said. "This is all real, and I get a chance to go earn a spot playing in the NFL. "The agency that represents me is based in New York, and back during the pre-draft process I said that once I got settled I'd like to come out and see it for the first time. Life works in strange ways, I guess. I'm loving it so far and ready for training camp." After fo...

Guaranteed money could be an issue for Giants signing Justin Pugh

With the new CBA pretty much setting the numbers for draft pick’s contracts, there really hasn’t been any trouble for teams signing their new players. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk plays devil’s advocate and points how guaranteed money could be an issue for the New York Giants in signing their first-round pick offensive lineman Just Pugh. Florio points out how every player...

Report: Manziel had more troubles at Manning camp

As Johnny Manziel tries to put out a media brushfire at SEC Media Days, a report says he was a problem from the beginning of his time at the Manning Passing Academy. And his parents had to call in sick for him. The New York Daily News, citing an anonymous source, said that Manziel arrived late to the camp on Thursday and missed a meeting. Then, again according to the source, Manziel...

Justin Tuck will appear on “Necessary Roughness”

New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck will make an appearance on an episode of “Necessary Roughness,” according to ESPNNewYork.com. Look for the Giants’ soft-spoken defensive captain when he guest stars on Wednesday night’s episode of “Necessary Roughness,” USA Network’s pro football-centric, one-hour drama series. Tuck was asked what took him so long to do...

Eli Manning: The Most Disrespected Super Bowl Champion

As I have explained in previous articles, I am a die-hard fan of the New York Giants.  As a fan, I admittedly wear my blinders frequently for Big Blue despite my best efforts to remain objective, but, it drives me absolutely bonkers when I have to listen to pundits put down or disrespect Eli Manning, especially when they use misleading statistics to prove their points.   It has...

JG’s New York Giants Training Camp Preview: The Defense

With training camp opening up for the New York Giants in a couple of weeks, the team has much unfinished business heading into the 2013 season. Despite missing the playoffs during three of the last four seasons, the team did run the table en route to a Super Bowl championship following the 2011 season. In 2012 the team finished with an identical record, 9-7, as they did during the...

New York Giants’ Stevie Brown on Starting Safety Job: It’s My Spot to Keep

Evaluating the talent of prospective NFL players is far from an exact science. JaMarcus Russell was supposed to be the savior of the Oakland Raiders organization as a No. 1 draft pick and Victor Cruz was hardly on the radar for any New York Giants fan as a rookie out of UMass. Heading into last season, Stevie Brown was not expected to make a significant impact with the likes of...

Victor Cruz does not feel New York Giants paid him what he is worth

Victor Cruz and the New York Giants are happy to have gotten the 26-year-old’s contract situation squared away, but that does not mean he feels he was compensated fairly. Once a player signs on the dotted line, he no longer has a right to complain. No one forced Cruz to sign a five-year, $43 million [...]

Victor Cruz doesn’t sound too pleased with his new contract

Tweet Victor Cruz, who has gained much popularity in a short period of time as a receiver for the New York Giants, recently signed a six-year contract worth upwards of $45 million –$15.6 million guaranteed — to stay with the Giants. Apparently Cruz believes he should have gotten more, per some comments he recently made [...]

Phil Simms Should be in the Hall of Fame

In the interest of full disclosure, I am a die-hard New York Giants fan.  I first started seriously watching football during the 1986 season when the Giants defeated the Denver Broncos, 39-20 in Super Bowl XXI.  In that game, Phil Simms had one of the best Super Bowl/Championship game performances of all time going 22-25 for 268 yards and 3 TD’s earning him MVP honors.  But...

The Hangover Part 5: Johnny Manziel Leaves Manning Academy

The Manning Passing Academy was started by Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Cooper Manning. The academy includes over 1,000 high school kids, all wanting to become the next great quarterback. This academy is very important to the Manning family and Lousiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. The camp also includes current college players who want to invest their time - with the children, not with...

Eli Manning's Top Five Fourth Quarter Comebacks

In the NFL, every good fourth quarter comeback requires masterful quarterback play, the defense being able to get three-and-outs or turnovers, and of course, a little luck.  Luck can only take you so far however, and it is no coincidence that Eli Manning has earned the reputation as being one of the best at helping the Giants "snatch victory from the jaws of defeat."...
