All my Vanderjacked fans were asking about week 11′s award…well with Thanksgiving around the corner I didn’t feel it would be nice to single out one kicker when I am thankful for all kickers! This week all we heard about was Ray Rice making a 4th and 29 late in the game against the lowly Bolts, and as Rice said, “Hey Diddle, Diddle Ray Rice up the middle!” Well, Ray Rice didn’t score the game tying field goal with 3 seconds left, Justin Tucker did…and Justin Tucker kicked the game winning field goal in overtime! Tucker was 3-3 on the day including the clutch kicks that tied and won the game. Ray Rice should have said, “Hey Diddle Diddle Justin Tucker Kicks It Up The Middle”! The undrafted free agent out of Texas is having a great rookie campaign. He has went 22-24 from field goal range with a long of 56. He has given the Ravens a stable kicking presence when they just can’t get the touchdown, and if a team wants to win the big games they need a big game kicker. Justin Tucker may just be that big game kicker that finally helps this talented Ravens team get back to the Super Bowl and give Ed Reed and Ray Lewis a going away present! Tucker could be dancing at the end of the season with his Vanderjacked of Year Award if this keeps up.
