By now, we’ve all seen the commercials for DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket. They’re everywhere.
The spots feature Deion Sanders, joined this season by Peyton & Eli Manning, as tiny fairy versions of themselves, spreading the gospel of the Sunday Ticket. And while the concept itself is fairly ridiculous, the campaign has allowed its stars to show off their considerable comedic chops.
As these outtakes demonstrate, while making the commercials, the guys were given a lot of freedom to improvise on the set … and as usual, Peyton’s dry humor shines here.
Our favorite moments are when he gives Deion a hard time for his fashion choices on the cover of his 1994 CD (“Prime, I love the crew vest, nothing underneath it. It’s genius, it’s brilliant. It’s aggressive … but it’s genius.”), and Peyton making excuses for why Eli couldn’t be there (“bad oysters … trust me, you don’t want to hear about it”).

When word got out last year that Peyton Manning was not going to play in 2011, I for one was devastated. I'm not a Colts fan just a huge NFL fan that knew I would miss the man, if for anything, his pure passion and knowledge of the game.I'm not going to throw a bunch of stats or anything to really make you think in this article, anyone who is a football fan knows, his stats...
Maybe Peyton Manning should of stayed injured and retired. Not because he is playing bad currently, Manning Sunday versus the Houston Texans was 25/51 for 310 yards with 2 Tds and no picks. But maybe because Matt Schaub threw for four touchdowns and his Broncos defense is a steaming pile. Houston Texans are the real deal at 3-0, but Denver right now looks like an Arena League...
HOUSTON Wade Phillips took a preemptive strike at the "Peyton Manning is finished" angle Thursday.
"I know it's going to be asked so I'm going to go ahead and make my statement," the Houston Texans defensive coordinator said. "Peyton Manning looks like the same guy he's always been."
No sense poking the bear, even if it does have a neck...
TweetNo doubt Eli Manning has yet to reach his brother's status as one of the best quarterbacks ever. But this season may turn out to be the one where people think of the older Manning as Eli's brother, this Denver Broncos fan seems to be on the same wave length. I don't think it can be disputed that the New York Giants QB is more clutch than Peyton Manning ever was.
Denver Broncos News
A second straight week of frustrating football for us Denver Broncos fans, but at least Peyton Manning has been able to make the scores respectable. [BroncoTalk]
The highlight reels are tough to watch for the first half, but the second half of the video is entertaining enough! [DenverBroncos.com]
It wasn’t just Peyton Manning who struggled early, the Orange...
Despite upsetting my Carolina Panthers in week one and nearly taking down Eli Manning’s Giants in week 2, Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s head Coach Greg Schiano has drawn the ire of many fans and sports reporters a like. After blowing a 14 point halftime lead, Buc’s QB Josh Freeman threw an interception late in the fourth quarter that sealed the Giants come back. Eli Manning came to...
DENVER (AP) -- Fall behind by 20. Lose by six. Take away those ugly incompletions and this failed comeback should have felt plenty familiar to Peyton Manning.
For the second straight game, Manning's comeback from way down came up short for the Denver Broncos.
Matt Schaub threw for four touchdowns against a confused Broncos defense Sunday to stake the Houston Texans to a big...
HOUSTON (AP) -- The way Houston is dominating possession time, Peyton Manning might expect to spend lots of playing time on the sideline Sunday.
The Texans (2-0) kept the ball with a punishing running game in last week's 27-7 victory over Jacksonville. Sure, the defense played well again, holding the Jaguars to nine first downs and 117 total yards. But thanks to the well-executed...
TweetThe New York Giants and Eli Manning dismantled Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers during the Thursday Night Game, week 3 of the 2012 season. The final score was 36-7.
This wasn't even close! At half time it was 20-0. Panthers QB Cam Newton scored and performed his Superman TD celebration, the only issue was that his team was down 23-6. If Cam is Superman, the Giants are...
CAPTAIN OF THE SHIP
Bucs coach Greg Schiano apparently has done little to improve his already negative reputation around the NFL.
DENVER -- Matt Schaub outdueled Peyton Manning even as he fought through a physical pounding that cost him a little piece of his ear. Schaub matched a career best by throwing for four touchdown passes, and the Houston Texans held off the Denver Broncos 31-25 Sunday for the first 3-0 start in the team's 10-year history. Shaking off a sack in the end zone that resulted in...
It's only three games in, but right now the Atlanta Falcons look as if they are as good as any team in the NFL.
With new offensive and defensive coordinators, their makeover appears a success as they improved to 3-0 on Sunday by putting a 27-3 thumping on San Diego, one of only six remaining unbeaten teams in the league.
Sunday had set up as a classic "letdown" game...
Arian Foster and the powerful Texans offense have not been broken a sweat through two games this season, but they will be grasping for some air at the Mile High.
Peyton Manning is back and is not better than ever since everybody feels as if they are an expert of some sort when breaking down arguably the greatest quarterback that has ever lived.
Manning struggled miserably against...
