In addition to safety Jim Leonhard going from jersey No. 45 to No. 36, four other players have also changed their respective numbers.
Per the team —
- RB Ronnie Hillman — No. 21 (Formerly No. 34)
- DB Duke Ihenacho — No. 33 (No. 39)
- LB Steven Johnson — No. 53 (No. 41)
- OL C.J. Davis — No. 54 (No. 71)
The numbers above became available after the Broncos waived/released nineteen players last week in order to meet the 53-man roster limit.
Among the players who switched numbers are Inhenacho, who is on the practice squad and Hillman—a flashy rookie running back out of San Diego State—who is the only one likely to see much playing time this season.
We’ll get our first look at these players in their new numbers on Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers come to Denver. 6 days, 9 hours, 55 minutes, 39 seconds and 346 milliseconds!

A position of terrible need last year has become a position of incredible depth. On paper, the Denver Broncos should continue their climb back to defensive respectability against opposing rushing attacks. The first team defense was stellar in the three preseason games and only faltered during the Seattle...
The Denver Broncos aren't all about passing with Peyton Manning. They've built a pretty good backfield, too.
The Broncos don't want Manning to air it out 42 times a game like he did in his last season in 2010. He missed all of last year with a weakened throwing arm, has gone through four neck surgeries, his wrenching exit from Indianapolis and the free agency frenzy...

The Denver Broncos have unveiled their 53-man roster, and although there aren't too many shocks of the 22 casualties, there are a few that are worth noting and analyzing.
Amongst the released were 10-year veteran cornerback Drayton Florence, third-year cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson, third-year safety Rafael Bush and sixth-year tackle Ryan Harris.
Florence was a surprise...

Peyton Manning: Will we see the old Manning or a new, not as awesome Manning?
I think we’ll see Manning get back to the Peyton of old. I do want to say that if I were a...

The 2012 preseason is finally drawing to an end, but the preseason is always the time that the casual fans begin to tune in and find out if their team will actually have a shot this season. However, there have been a couple teams that have been getting all the headlines.
Denver Broncos: Peyton Manning is back and it was odd to not see him throw touchdown passes last season. Peyton...

It’s impossible to measure a guy’s success based on one game or even a handful of games over a career in the National Football League, but it’s hard not to notice the success, or lack thereof, by Denver Broncos’ QB Peyton Manning against the 3-4 defense.
It really is impossible because Manning has had good success against the Baltimore Ravens and their 3-4 defense which you...
